Patent renewal for tourist operations

Hours: 7.30am - 12.30pm / 2pm - 5pm (GMT-6)

60 days prior to its expiration, i.e. until December 1 of each year, according to the following requirements:

     

  1. Certificate Environmental technical inspection as stated in Resolution No. 0028 of April 17, issued by the Tourism Management Process of the DGNP. 

     

  2. Program of activities containing the requested itinerary and incidental activities.

     

  3. Registration of the boat or charter contract of the vessel to be used in the tourist operation.

     

  4. Traffic permit issued by the National Directorate of Aquatic Spaces (DIRNEA).

     

  5. Singular Certificate of Tonnage, Appraisal and Classification given by the DIRNEA. 

     

  6. Certification issued by any of the port authorities of the Galapagos in which states that the person has made tourism operations in protected areas of Galapagos of at least 180 days in the year immediately preceding the filing of annual renewal.

     

  7. Tourism Registration issued by the Ministry of Tourism. 

     

  8. Single license for operation issued by the municipality. 

     

  9. Declaration of payment to the municipality in the canton for 1.5 per thousand on total assets. 

     

  10. Existing insurance policies, covering: accidental environmental pollution, liability, salvage, towage and debris removal, as established in Resolution No. 0053 of 6 November 2006 from the DPNG. 

     

  11. Copy the National Register of Taxpayers (RUC). 

     

  12. Certificate of compliance with obligations issued by the Superintendent of Companies, in the case of legal persons. 

     

  13. Appointment of legal representative for legal persons.

Process

Once the requirements described above are fulfilled, the Head of Public Use will solicit the Directorate of the Galapagos National Park to authorize the Head of Cashier the amount and liquidation of values corresponding to the patent of tourism management. Once the person concerned has canceled these values, the Directorate of the Galapagos National Park will issue a patent for tourism operation and notify the DIRNEA (ex DIGMER) the issuance of the new patent.
