
 First issue of tourism management patent

Description
It is the authorization given to the holder of a tourist operations quota for major tourism activities in places defined inside the protected areas of Galapagos, issued personally and not transferable and shall be delivered for each major tourist activity.
The validation period is annual, conceivable from February 1 to January 31 of the following year.

- Traffic permit issued by the DIRNEA
- Membership certificate and fulfillment of obligations of the Provincial Chamber of Tourism (CAPTURGAL)
- Tourism registration and operating license issued by the relevant municipality or MINTUR
- Existing insurance policies that cover accidental environmental pollution, liability, salvage, towage and debris removal
- Registration of the vessel to be used in the tourism operation
- Single certificate of tonnage and valuation and classification granted by the DIRNEA (ex DIGMER)
- Declaration of payment to a municipality in the canton for 1.5 per thousand of total assets
- Copy of single taxpayer registration (RUC) of the beneficiary of the quota.
- Certificate of technical inspection for the boat, given by the Head of Public Use of the Galapagos National Park
- Annual program of activities that contain the proposed itinerary, stay, frequency of visits and payroll of authorized guides
- Certificate of compliance with obligations issued by the Superintendent of Companies in case of legal persons
- Appointment of legal representative for legal persons

Process
Once the requirements described above are fulfilled, the Head of Public Use will solicit the Directorate of the Galapagos National Park to authorize the Head of Cashier the amount and liquidation of values corresponding to the patent for tourist operations. Once the person concerned has canceled these values, the Directorate of the Galapagos National Park will issue a patent for tourism operation and notify the DIRNEA (ex DIGMER) the issuance of the new patent.
