The DGNP implemented organizational restructuring proccess

The objective at strengthening the technical capacities of the institution and deconcentrate processes.

The Galapagos National Park Service is in a process of institutional strengthening, including a change management model and organizational structure. This change will strengthen the technical capacities of the Directorate decentralize decision making and facilitate the management of protected area.

With the new model to be implemented, there will be a structure according to the needs of protected area management, adapting to the conservation objectives set out in the Management Plan and in the institutional scheme of the Ecuadorian State. Moreover, deconcentration processes in the Technical Offices of San Cristobal, Isabela and Floreana, which will improve service to users.

This process of restructuring entails great changes, great challenges. One of them, perhaps most importantly, is the institutional strengthening of the human talent, through a staff training plan and incentives.

The new model will be adopted by the DGNP optimize, rationalizing and to reclassify the human talent which counts the institution and place each officer in the proper place, responding to the needs of the institution, professional training, their experience , their abilities and skills demonstrated. This the restructuring process will create new jobs, but others should be optimized to not respond to institutional needs.

It is very important for the conservation and sustainable development of the archipelago have a stronger institution for effective and efficient management of protected areas of Galapagos.
